{"id":775,"date":"2012-11-18T22:36:46","date_gmt":"2012-11-18T22:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sparktoro.com\/blog\/?p=775"},"modified":"2012-11-18T22:36:46","modified_gmt":"2012-11-18T22:36:46","slug":"broadening-our-thinking-on-the-practice-of-conversion-rate-optimization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sparktoro.com\/blog\/broadening-our-thinking-on-the-practice-of-conversion-rate-optimization\/","title":{"rendered":"Broadening Our Thinking on the Practice of Conversion Rate Optimization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many times when businesses invest in improving online conversion rates, the practice goes something like this:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Brainstorm a list of things that can be changed in the conversion process or on the landing page<\/li>\n<li>Determine which are easy to build\/test<\/li>\n<li>Create a set of A\/B or multivariate tests to run through them<\/li>\n<li>Allow winning changes to remain<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Unfortunately, this process diminishes what CRO can achieve. It&#8217;s my belief that conversion rate optimization needs to be a practice that&#8217;s separate from funnel optimization or landing page optimization (though it can certainly encompass those).
