What is a report, and how do reports work?

Last updated 2026-08-05

A report is a single audience query you run in SparkToro (for example, an audience you describe in your own words, or the people who follow an account, talk about a topic, or visit a website). Your plan includes a set number of reports per billing period.

A few things to know:

  • Re-opening a report you have already run does not use another report, so you can revisit past results as often as you like.
  • Editing or refining an audience and running it again does count as a new report, because it produces a fresh set of results. If you only want to look back at earlier results, re-open the existing report instead of re-running it.
  • Deleting a report does not add it back to your allowance. Your count reflects the reports you've run during the current billing period, whether or not you keep them.
  • Your report allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle.

Getting more reports

To get a higher monthly report allowance, upgrade your plan. Upgrades take effect immediately. There's no separate add-on or one-off report purchase, so upgrading is the way to run more reports in a given period.

The SparkToro API is a separate, credit-based product. API credits don't add to your subscription's monthly report allowance.

To see how many reports you have left, visit your account billing page.
