For the past 9 months, our devoted CTO, Casey Henry, has been working day and night to get support for the United Kingdom and Canada into SparkToro V2. Today, it’s finally here.
Whether you’re a free user of SparkToro or a paid subscriber, access to data in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada is available via the new search dropdown 👇
Amanda’s already found some fun comparisons between US and Canadian audiences, like this analysis of Halloween costume enthusiasts:
A few notes on our Canadian and UK datasets:
- Both countries have smaller populations than the United States, so demographic data may be less available in these regions than it is in the US (for privacy reasons, SparkToro won’t show demographics unless we have 50-100+ matching profiles)
- Language matters! Don’t forget that Canadian and British audiences may have slightly different spellings of search keywords and bio terms.
- We currently don’t support the overlap of multiple countries, but have already received a few requests about this and are looking into it. We hope to offer the ability to search for Canadian + US or Canada + UK or ‘All regions’ in the Advanced Search tab.
- Both of these datasets are new and are still being polished. If you’ve got feedback or find errors/issues, we’d love to hear from you—[email protected] goes to all three of us.
We also know that other regions are in demand, and hope to expand. However… SparkToro’s data costs have been rising, and each new country/language means a large additional outlay and a substantive amount of work for Casey (and for Amanda and I to test). Thus, it’s unlikely we’ll have support for any new regions for the next 6-9 months while we try to grow revenue to support our additional costs. As a reminder, we’re just a tiny team of three, and don’t have venture funding or a parent company, so our investment-before-growth abilities are a bit limited.
Thanks to everyone who’s supported this launch, and all who’ve pushed us to expand our coverage. We’re overjoyed to finally be able to offer SparkToro to our Canadian and UK friends.
p.s. Drop us a line if you’ve got any great examples of SparkToro audience research reports in those regions. We’d love to feature you in our social media posts and emails 😎
