Face masks are breaking facial recognition algorithms, says new government study

Face masks are breaking some of the most commonly used facial recognition algorithms, according to a new study from US government agency NIST (the National Institute of Standards and Technology). Error rates spiked to between 5 and 50 percent for some algorithms.
