No. The SparkToro API is a separate product from our subscription plans, with its own billing. A paid SparkToro plan does not include API access, and you don't need a plan to use the API.
The two products are metered differently:
- SparkToro plans give you a set number of audience research reports each month in the web app, billed as a monthly or annual subscription.
- The API runs on prepaid credit bundles. You buy a bundle once, then spend credits per API call. There's no subscription, no monthly bill, and no auto-renewal. See how API credits work for details.
One exception: the SparkToro MCP server, which connects SparkToro to ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI assistants, is included free with any paid plan. MCP usage counts against your plan's monthly report quota, not against API credits.
To try the API, create an API key from your API dashboard. Every new key comes with 200 free credits, enough for about six typical reports, so you can test it end to end before buying anything. Full endpoint documentation lives at sparktoro.com/api/docs.
